Weld Creations provides production welding and contract fabrication for manufacturers across Southern California. We take repeat welded parts from first article to recurring runs: we build the fixtures, weld to an approved sample, and deliver the same part every release. The work is TIG welding for precision and stainless parts, and MIG where speed and thicker steel make sense.

Production work is where a welding shop proves itself. Making one good part is craftsmanship. Making the five-hundredth part identical to the first takes process, and that’s what this page is about.

How we run a production job

1. Quote from your drawing and volumes. We price on the quantity per release and the annual volume, because fixtures and setup are amortized across the whole program.

2. First article. We weld and inspect a first article and send it, or its inspection report and photos, for your approval. Nothing runs until you sign off.

3. Fixture and process. We build a fixture that locates every part identically, then lock in the weld sequence, parameters and filler so the process is repeatable, not dependent on who’s welding that day.

4. Run and inspect. Parts are welded to the approved process and inspected against the first article and your drawing. If your quality plan calls for in-process checks or sample inspection, we build that in.

5. Deliver and repeat. Parts ship on your schedule. For recurring parts, the fixture and process stay ready for the next release.

Distortion control

Welding puts heat into a part, and heat moves metal. On a precision component, distortion can wreck a machined surface or pull a hole out of position. We control it through:

  • Fixturing that holds geometry during welding and cooling
  • Weld sequencing that balances heat around the part
  • Heat management, especially with TIG welding, where heat input is precisely controlled
  • Stitch-then-finish strategies on long seams, where the design allows

One supplier for the finished part

Most production parts need more than welding. We deliver the finished part, coordinating the steps before and after welding in-house or through our partner network:

  • Before welding: laser, waterjet and saw cutting, forming and bending, machining
  • After welding: machining of welded assemblies, grinding and polishing, passivation, powder coating, anodizing and plating
  • Inspection and documentation: material certs, first-article reports and dimensional inspection as your quality plan requires

You issue one purchase order and deal with one point of contact.

Design for welding: lowering cost per part

On production parts, small design decisions multiply across every unit. When you share a design early, we can suggest changes that cut welding time and rework without changing function:

  • Self-locating parts. Tabs, slots and notches that locate components make fixturing simpler and fit-up faster and more consistent.
  • Weld size to requirement. Oversized welds add time and heat, and heat means distortion. We size welds to the load, not to habit.
  • Accessible joints. Welds the torch can reach in one orientation reduce repositioning and improve quality.
  • Fewer, longer welds. Consolidating short stitch welds into continuous seams, or eliminating them with formed features, where the design allows.
  • Weld-friendly material pairings. Avoiding combinations that need special fillers or procedures unless the application requires them.
