Weld Creations provides pharmaceutical equipment fabrication for manufacturers in Los Angeles and across Southern California. We build and modify the stainless steel equipment that solid-dose and powder-handling lines depend on: feed hoppers and perforated cones, chutes, machine stands, frames, enclosures, ducting and sanitary tube assemblies. We TIG weld it to be cleanable and document it for your quality team.

Our gallery shows the environment we work in: tablet presses and capsule fillers in production cleanrooms, stainless hoppers with tri-clamp connections, and V-blender installations. This is regulated production work, and we treat it that way.

Built for GMP environments

Equipment in a pharmaceutical facility is judged on cleanability as much as function. Every design and welding decision we make comes back to one question: can this be cleaned and verified clean, every changeover?

  • Continuous, crevice-free welds on product-contact and splash-zone surfaces, with no stitch welds or lap joints where residue can build up.
  • Back-purged, full-penetration welds on tube and closed sections, so the inside is as clean as the outside.
  • Free-draining geometry. Sloped surfaces, radiused corners, no horizontal ledges, no open tube ends.
  • Finishes to your spec. Welds blended and polished to the surface roughness on your drawing, with passivation or electropolishing through specialist partners when required.
  • The right materials. 316L stainless for product contact and 304/304L for structure, plus nickel alloys like Hastelloy where the process chemistry is aggressive.

For a deeper look at what separates a sanitary weld from a structural one, see sanitary welding.

Equipment we fabricate and modify

Solid dose and powder handling

  • Feed hoppers with perforated or solid cones, angled inlets and tri-clamp outlets
  • Product chutes, transitions and discharge assemblies
  • Replacement and modified hoppers for tablet presses and capsule fillers

Structure and installation

  • Machine stands and support frames with sealed tubing and cleanable bases
  • Guards, enclosures and panels
  • Stainless ducting and dust-collection connections for tablet presses and other equipment

Process and utility

  • Sanitary tube spools and assemblies with ferrules and clamp connections
  • Orbital-welded process tubing through our partner network when your spec requires it
  • Brackets, mounts and custom components, including production runs of repeat parts

Documentation that supports validation

Your validation team owns the IQ/OQ. What they need from a fabricator is a clean paper trail. At quote time, tell us what your quality system requires, and we’ll deliver it with the parts:

  • Material test reports (MTRs) with heat-number traceability
  • Weld records and inspection photos
  • Surface finish and passivation or electropolish certificates from our finishing partners
  • As-built dimensions or drawing mark-ups for modified equipment

Working in and around the cleanroom

Fabrication happens in our Glendora shop. Fit-up and installation happen in your facility, often around running equipment and within gowning and access rules. Tell us your site requirements up front, including gowning, permits, working hours and shutdown windows, and we’ll plan the installation around them so production loses as little time as possible.

Why pharmaceutical manufacturers work with us

  • Precision TIG welding is our core skill. See TIG welding services. Thin-wall stainless and polished finishes reward a welder with fine heat control.
  • AWS D17.1 certified, the aerospace fusion welding standard, which reflects the discipline we bring to every regulated job.
  • Third-generation welder. Mark May brings three generations of craft to every part that leaves the shop.
  • One point of contact. Fabrication, finishing, orbital welding and machining through our partner network, all on one purchase order.
  • Prototype to production. Build one replacement hopper, then run the next twenty the same way.

What to include in a pharmaceutical equipment RFQ

The fastest quotes come from complete requests. For new or replacement equipment, send:

  • Drawings or samples. A drawing (PDF or STEP) is ideal. For a replacement hopper or chute, photos with key dimensions, or the old part itself, work too.
  • Material and finish. The grade for product-contact and non-contact parts, the surface roughness (Ra) on product-contact surfaces, and whether passivation or electropolishing is required.
  • Connections. Clamp sizes, ferrule standards and any interface to existing equipment, such as the tablet press or capsule filler model the part mounts to.
  • Documentation. The records your quality system requires with delivery.
  • Site constraints. Whether installation is required, plus cleanroom access rules and shutdown windows.

If some of this isn’t settled yet, send what you have. We can quote in stages or help you define the spec.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pharmaceutical equipment do you fabricate?

Stainless steel equipment and components for solid-dose and powder-handling production, including feed hoppers, perforated cones, chutes, machine stands, frames, guards, enclosures, ducting and sanitary tube assemblies. We also modify and replace parts on existing equipment.

Can you work inside our cleanroom?

Our work includes installation around tablet presses and capsule fillers in production cleanrooms. Tell us your facility's gowning, access and documentation requirements when you request a quote, and we'll plan the installation around them.

Do you provide documentation for validation?

Your validation team owns IQ/OQ. We supply the fabrication records that feed into it, such as material test reports with heat-number traceability, weld records and inspection photos, as agreed at quote time.

Do you offer orbital welding for process tubing?

When a specification calls for orbital welding of sanitary process tubing, we deliver it through our partner network, while we handle the fabrication, fit-up and project management.

Which stainless grade should I use?

316L for product-contact surfaces, and 304 or 304L for frames and non-contact structure, unless your process calls for something more corrosion resistant such as a nickel alloy.

Send us the drawing.

Material, quantity and timeline are all we need to start a quote. In-house or through our partner network, we deliver the finished part.
